You know Christmas is coming to completion when you start taking the lights down ... in this case Abbi was a great helper!

It also marks the beginning of a bit of sanity for the SB Sanders ... thanks for your prayers, meals, support and well wishes. It's meant a ton for us. Tami seems to be stable, although bored stiff on bedrest. We've had visits from her sister Wendi and dear friend Mandy to help cover when I've been to work. I'm full-time dad again at home over this weekend and the calvary is coming (aka Tami's mom this week and my mom the next :)).

All in all, we've a lot to be grateful for as we head into the final stretch with our little one. Please keep it up you guys ... you are our village!

Woohoo! Tami is home. Thank you everyone for your prayers and well wishes. It's been humbling to experience your grace as a family. We are so grateful.

Many have asked what they can do on our behalf or for us directly. The most substantive tangible effort you could do for us would be to intentionally pray for God's provision and protection ... and for peace to rule our little home.

Secondarily, we will have pragmatic issues to deal with in the coming days including helping us keep Tami on her back, watching the kids, feeding our bellies, washing dishes, doing laundry and being our friends ... if any of these specific things fit within your skill set, let us know. Otherwise, know that you have already been part of a remarkable moment that models community and honors God.

Again, thanks! We love you.

It's looking like things are pretty stable right now. Tami should be coming home tonight and from here on out she's on full bed rest ... i.e., horizontal (not sitting) 24/7 except potty breaks and one shower a day ... with three kids ... hahaha ... hilarious!

So, prayer type people, there's your assignment! That we'd figure out this bedrest riddle and that God would provide the coverage we need to not tempt Tami off her backside.

Every day the little darlin' is on the inside is a good day.

By the way, since I know that many of you guys are into contests and such ... here's one for you, with a little accountability thrown in for good measure ... for every prayer you actually pray, you get to post one name nomination on her behalf in the "comment" section below ... we'll take 'em all into consideration ... and any winner chosen gets, you guessed it ... dinner at Chad's!

Food poisoning?

I just got off the phone with Tami ... contractions have stopped and so has the nausea. This really is great news. The doctor wants to make sure she gets all her steroid shots so she'll be in until at least tonight. Crazy thing is they think she might have gotten food poisoning when we went out to Chad's on a date last night. Apparently bad goat cheese can induce labor.

More soon ... keep praying :)!

Hey everyone,

It would be premature to get alarmed about anything but it'd be right on time to let you guys know what's up :).

It's 2:39am and I just got back from the hospital sans Tami. She's there with our daughter in her belly still (great news) but apparently the little darlin' wants to come out a little early ... like nine weeks early ... which as many of you know is our tradition in the Sanders household but not the best idea for humans who are supposed to stay in their mommies bellies for nine months and not six and a half.

So, here's the skinny ... Around 9:30 tonight, Tami started feeling what felt like contractions. We went in as a precautionary measure and they started tying machines to her and listening for beeps and such. Tami felt awful and decided to throw up about three times to prove it. Such a bummer. Anyway, despite a test that suggested she isn't going into labor (good news), they wanted to get her re-hydrated with an IV overnight. We were tempted to refuse and stop by the 7/11 for some gatorade when the nurse did one last "check downstairs" and noticed that she had gone from 1 cm to 2 cm dialated. Apparently that's not good news if you want to not have a baby.

So, in addition to giving Tami the IV (and me passing out like a girl at the sight of the needle and blood ... seriously funny story ... I'll tell you later ... ya right) ... they also started giving her steroids. This was so, on the chance that the baby comes early, the drugs should help the baby bench press 400 lbs, run the 100 meter sprint in under 9 seconds ... and develop her lungs a lot more. The catch is, she has to get them every six hours for 24 hours. Oh, the challenges of being a world class athlete.

Thankfully, we have some AMAZING troupers named Elizabeth Rusinak (she used to live with us) and Lori Lester (Elizabeth's roommate and my co-worker) who are hitting the home runs and keeping our kids in check. So, for the moment we're fine on all fronts. We'll know more in the next little bit, but again the next 24 hours are kind of important. That's how long it takes to get through the steroids. Ideally 3 more weeks would be great too, but we'll take what we can get.

So, if you're of the praying type, please pray. If not, please consider becoming that type and join in.

Please forgive the bad humor. I'm sure it's just thinly veiled fatigue. I'm really not this funny when I'm wide awake.

Christmas and Lisi are forever together in the Sanders household. Yesterday we got to celebrate the birth of Christ and the birth of Analise Noel! She was three.

Like Mary, Tami was much with child yesterday too which didn't allow us to travel beyond our "inn" so we thought it might be fun to pass on a couple pictures of our day.
